Maria is a lash angel. She has given me a new lease on life, and I feel beautiful all the time; I no longer need mascara or make up. I just look rested, and made up all the time. And they last for 3 weeks!! They are SO natural, and Maria has butterfly touches when applying the lashes. I actually fell asleep during my last touch up.

I have been wearing lashes for over a decade now – it is hard to believe. I have worked with several different estheticians and lashers during this time, each person getting better than the next as the lash trend kept growing and technique continued to improve. I met Maria when I moved to the Bay Area and I am confident to say that as long as I stay in the area, she will be my last stop. Her technique and quality of work are second to none. My lashes always look amazing and they LAST! She has incredible attention to detail. I have been going to Maria Powell at Happy Lashes (at both the Monterey Blvd and Alameda locations) for over 3 years, and cannot imagine my lashes (or my life!) without her. This review is obviously long overdue.
Once you start getting your lashes done at Happy Lashes, don’t be surprised if you end up hooked for life. It may seem like an indulgence to get your lashes refilled every 3-4 weeks, but it makes such a huge difference (and costs less than going to the spa or getting a massage every month) — it’s absolutely worth it. I never have to wear mascara, rarely even use eyeliner, and – best of all – I haven’t used an eyelash curler for over 3 years!
Maria is a master lash artist, and is incredibly kind and hardworking. She has given me a range of looks: dramatic lashes for special occasions, as well as more natural lashes for everyday. I was looking for a place to get lash extensions done and it’s pretty difficult for me to find a good place with good techs but this place really surprised me! I used to live in Chicago and would only feel comfortable with two of the techs to do my lashes.
When I came to happy lashes I didn’t know what to expect but the staff is very kind and patient. I signed the paperwork and decided to go with the Volume HD full lash set. Sandra took her time and did an amazing job!
I came in today, almost a month later and Maria did my touch up. (My lashes that Sandra did were still very much in tact hehe)
Maria also did an amazing job and I decided to do my bottom lashes there as well! Couldn’t be happier with the outcome and services provided here!

I love waking up from a nap while Janeen fills my eyelash extensions. It’s the best beauty rest ever because I actually wake up looking better than before.
